If you go to Lukomir village, it’s impossible not to meet the old people which are the only inhabitants of this village. When I was last summer, some nice old ladies were making stuffs by hand and enjoying the sunshine of the summer time. They were wearing traditional hand-knitted clothing like customs of nomadic tribes turning us somehow back in time, centuries ago.

Old houses with high roofs, thick stone walls and wooden tiles roofs shows for the harsh winters that takes place there.  Meanwhile a little bit away from the village, an old shepherds was protecting their flocks into flowerily field with huge dogs. Some other villager were making their own daily obligations and somewhere else, in the suburbs of the village another old man was carving a wooden scythe holder.

It looks like all these “characters” are completing piece by piece the full panoramic view of the Lukomir village.

Meanwhile I was enjoying a glass of juice, one of these old women was staying beyond the fence, kindly invited me in her language. She shows me a sack full of handmade socks and gloves which were thick, colorful and wool made. I tried to explain to her that there are not such frost in my country where I come from.

During I was turning back to Sarajevo, I immediately repented that I didn’t buy any sock, not because my country’s cold winters, but modestly to contribute on their simple life.
